Sometimes it seems organizations spend so much time thinking about who they are when we really need to be asking who they're not. What are the things we're NOT going to do. What are the things that keep us focused on what we're truly good at.

I believe Mr. Collins calls it the Hedgehog concept.

we have been going over Made to Stick as a staff here at Mariners... we are beginning to embrace the notion that clarity + simplicity = maximum impact. this is leading us to begin the process of asking what should we not be doing... but this is a VERY painful question in the church world I think.
